Earthquake Relief
Dear Life Connection Mission Supporters,
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35 (New International Version)
As we were preparing this mailing of tax receipts and newsletters for our mission supporters, we received the heartbreaking news of the violent earthquake that has devastated Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas. We are very grateful to report that our school and mission complex received only minor damage. The staff and volunteers in Montrouis are well and ready to help. We would also like to extend the opportunity for you to help us serve the countless victims who are suffering so greatly.
* Special Request *
This is an excellent opportunity to display love in action. How can we show our love to our Haitian brothers and sisters during this time of crisis?
Please pray for Haiti, its people, our mission, and all of the volunteers. Please also consider helping by returning this letter with your contribution:

* About Our Mission *
As you may already know, Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Based on statistics from the
World Bank,
78% of Haitians live on less than $2.00 per day and 54% live on less than $1.00 per day.
Life expectancy is about 52 years. About 50% of the population is illiterate and due to the lack of funding there are
not enough public schools for all the children.
Life Connection Mission is a multi-denominational non-profit organization. Our goal is to provide a quality education, from preschool through high school,
to produce responsible productive graduates, and to improve their lives through various ministries,
headquartered in the village of Montrouis, Haiti. In addition the mission plans to create a business
and technical school to help prepare students for advanced careers. In order to meet this mission, we plan to do the following:
1. Minister to the general needs of the community.
2. Administer College Education Excellence
and sponsorship program for the school.
3. Provide a feeding program at the school.
4. Partner with medical missions.
5. Build homes & provide other humanitarian
services to the children of Mont Rouis
6. Host incoming groups that wish to visit
and help with the ongoing needs of Haiti.

Short Story: One day, while walking through the community of Mont Rouis,
Dale Moyers ran into an eight year old girl, pictured at the right, named Mole'ne. She was one of five children whose parents had just recently passed away. Her Aunt, who he was already familiar with,
took in two of the children, both girls. Already having five children of their own, the family could only afford to send one of the two girls to school. This meant that eight year old Mole'ne
could not attend school. Instead she would have to watch each day as her sister, and other children living in the community, went to school while she stayed home. This was a heart wrenching experience
for him. The next morning he went by this little girls house and gave her a doll. This was the first time he saw her smile. It was important to him that he find someone to sponsor
this child. On February 12, 2007 he met with one of his customers, Ms. Stitt, who wanted to discuss the situation in Haiti. She had previously donated porcelain dolls to take to Haiti, one of which Dale had given
to this eight year old girl. After explaining this story to the customer Ms. Stitt decided to sponsor Mole'ne. Now, because of the kindness and generosity of one person, this little girl, Mole'ne, will be
attending school and begin enjoying some of the things in life that we all sometimes take for granted.
This is not the only child that needs help.
Would you or anyone else you know be interested in sponsoring a child in Haiti?
Sponsorship cost is $25.00 per month and is used to pay for the tuition, books, and uniforms for one child to go to school.
The child is also given lunch, which sometimes, is their only meal of the day. Please go to the following link to fill out a Sponsorship Form.
You may email, fax, or mail the form to Life Connection Mission.
